Abstract

The main objective of this article is to share ICT-mediated classroom experiences in the English area of the Abraham Lincoln School's primary section. The focus is to strengthen and promote the ability to write in the second language (English), using the Kids A-Z S- Cool Colombia platform, diagrams and, graphic organizers, among others. According to the results obtained in the competency assessments of the 2019-2020 year, the need to improve the writing ability is evident. The team of teachers is dedicated to the study of strategies that promote motivation, creativity, autonomy and specific language skills. It is decided to develop a structured activity called “Meet the author” for all elementary levels, up to fourth grade.

The implementation of this classroom experience allows us to conclude that from the teacher's point of view it was quite edifying experience because it enriches the teaching and learning processes. The role of being a facilitator in the classroom was fulfilled. From the student's point of view, his role was quite active.

It turns out that the strategy was effective because students improved academic performance, in the third term, in the writing skill and the use of the platform motivated students to write and to design various stories following the lexical and linguistic syntax parameters of the second language.
